SummaryProject Overview
The opportunity for a major renovation of the area around Shibuya Station came with the dawn of the 21st century.
In 2001, it was decided to develop the current Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, to operate through services with the Tokyu Toyoko Line, and to move the line underground.
A huge space will appear in front of Shibuya Station on the former site of the Tokyu Toyoko Line.
Seeing this as an opportunity to renew urban infrastructure, the Shibuya Regeneration Project, said to be a once-in-a-century project, has begun in earnest.
In the city of Shibuya, which has been formed over a long period of time since the late Meiji period, we are faced with a question that has no correct answer.
What should the future of Shibuya be?
At PACIFIC CONSULTANTS, we always put the "user's perspective" first, seeking better answers, and we continue to work closely with the city of Shibuya, sharing our awareness with many stakeholders and partners.
Aiming to be an attractive town that is loved by everyone...

DRAWING VISION
Taking on the challenge of realizing our vision
As the city evolved, Shibuya's unique charm and individuality was formed, but various challenges to the foundations that support the city also piled up.
We will take advantage of the town's charm and renew its infrastructure.
Solving problems without stopping the town's activities.
The Shibuya Revitalization Project was given these two propositions.
It's like solving a "spatial puzzle" and a "time puzzle" simultaneously.
To solve this puzzle, we need know-how about all aspects of social infrastructure, including railways, rivers, and urban development.
We steadily moved forward by repeatedly taking a comprehensive, bird's-eye view of the entire project from the perspectives of "safety," "convenience," and "comfort," and then delving deeply into each individual piece.
PACIFIC CONSULTANTS will continue to work towards realizing the "Shibuya of the Future."
INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN
Now and in the future.
Supporting Shibuya's continued progress
"SHIBUYA PARTNER"
Multiple projects are ongoing in parallel over the long term, and new projects continue to emerge.
In addition to individual projects, we have been required to take a bird's-eye view of multiple projects, present solutions for the city as a whole, and provide answers to issues that change over time.
PACIFIC CONSULTANTS is a partner to the various stakeholders who support the project's progress, and also a partner to Shibuya in seeking better solutions for the entire city.
Now and in the future.
