Overview of the Intellectual Property Policy
Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd. and its group companies (hereinafter referred to as Pacific Consultants Group) consider the services generated from the knowledge and skills of their employees to be important assets, and have established an "Intellectual Property Basic Policy" to actively promote the creation, management, and utilization of intellectual property that leverages these assets. Through collaboration with external parties and the development of educational systems, we will promote sustainable business development utilizing intellectual property and contribute to solving social issues.
1. Creation of Strategic Intellectual Property
As a driving force behind innovation in society and Producing the Future, we will proactively and strategically create intellectual property through the following initiatives.
- Actively develop original technologies and implement technological development using government and other funding.
- When it is determined that it is possible to develop people's lives and build more advanced infrastructure and innovation, we will actively approach the relevant parties to acquire intellectual property rights.
- Promoting the global expansion of intellectual property
- Building cooperative relationships with external parties based on fair and appropriate contracts, such as for outsourcing transactions and joint research and development
2. Appropriate Management of Intellectual Property
We will implement the following initiatives and strive to properly manage intellectual property rights in the course of our daily business operations, the development of new technologies, and the acquisition of intellectual property rights.
- Respect the intellectual property rights of others and conduct necessary checks and investigations to avoid infringing them.
- Raise awareness of necessary technical skills and intellectual property-related laws through education and training.
- Manage technology development costs and revenues, evaluate and analyze technology development, plan, improve and effectively utilize strategies.
- Properly manage our intellectual property, including protecting necessary rights and responding to infringements.
3. Intellectual Property Management Promotion System
We will establish and operate an intellectual property creation scheme, along with developing an internal system, that enables us to work towards acquiring intellectual property rights from the initial conceptual stage of intellectual property.
To promote the creation of strategic intellectual property, build collaborative relationships with stakeholders, and manage intellectual property appropriately, we will provide necessary education and training to cultivate and secure personnel who will advance the intellectual property management of Pacific Consultants Group.
