■Event Overview
As disasters become more severe and infrastructure deteriorates, the foundations of our lives and the economy are threatened. Implementing disaster countermeasures against earthquakes, heavy rains, and other disasters, and building a resilient social infrastructure, has become an urgent social issue.
The "Disaster Prevention and Resilience Special Exhibition" uses models and construction DX to unravel pressing social issues and clues to their solutions. It's packed with exhibits that you can see, touch, and experience in an engaging way.
The venue will host the "Civil Engineering Model Grand Prix 2026," a student contest that was a huge success last year. Students from universities and technical colleges across Japan will compete to see who can best convey the fun and challenges of civil engineering by operating their self-made civil engineering models. The students' presentations using their moving models will be judged on the spot, and the grand prize winner will be decided. The number of student entries has tripled since last year, and with the strongest competitors who have passed the preliminary rounds gathering for the final round on Wednesday, September 30th, a fierce competition is inevitable. Don't underestimate these models. You're sure to make new discoveries and gain unexpected insights.
