We are launching a ZEB (Zero Energy Building) demonstration project in Cyberjaya, Malaysia – Malaysia's first initiative aiming to achieve "Nearly ZEB" through the renovation of existing buildings.
PACIFIC CONSULTANTS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President Executive Officer: Osamu OMOTO; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will lead the international demonstration project to be conducted in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, as the lead company, bringing together its technical expertise in the fields of architecture and facilities.
This project is a demonstration project by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), a national research and development agency, and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA: the government agency responsible for sustainable energy development in Malaysia), aiming to convert the existing office building located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, into a Zero Energy Building (ZEB). This is the first initiative in Malaysia to convert an existing building into a ZEB through renovation. In this project, four Japanese companies—our company, AGC Inc., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and Azbil Corporation—will combine their energy-saving technologies and know-how to achieve "Nearly ZEB," which means reducing primary energy consumption by more than 75%.
Through this project, we aim to promote decarbonization in Malaysia's construction sector and establish a leading model case with a view to expanding into the ASEAN region.
For further details on this project, please refer to the news releases from NEDO and the Malaysian state news agency (BERNAMA).
