■Outline of lecture
Title: Identifying work-related issues faced by sewerage workers in local public organizations with the aim of improving productivity
Presenter: Ryosuke Maruyama, Advanced Technology Center Technical Research Institute

In this study, we conducted interviews with water supply and sewerage departments in local public organizations and identified general issues faced by sewerage employees. It was found that the handover of work due to personnel transfers, which occur approximately every three years, leads to the loss of data and know-how, and that the short handover period is having a negative impact on work efficiency. Through interviews with sewerage employees in local public organizations, issues such as transfers to areas with different expertise and unclear handover methods emerged. To resolve these issues, it would be effective to utilize information technology such as generative AI to build a system that supports the transfer of explicit and tacit knowledge. We will continue conducting interviews and examining effective handover methods.

The Outstanding Presentation Award will be given to an individual who has given an outstanding presentation or lecture at an event hosted or co-hosted by the Construction Management Committee within the year of the award (such as a research presentation or discussion meeting on construction management issues, a public procurement symposium, or a regional symposium).
