We Will Formulate a "Carbon Neutral Strategy" and Strengthen Services Aimed at Decarbonizing Social Infrastructure and Local Communities.
PACIFIC CONSULTANTS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Osamu OMOTO) declared "Pacific Net Zero" in June 2021 to demonstrate PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP 's stance on the accelerating global movement toward environmental management (decarbonization management) and to express its strong determination to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through its business.
Based on this declaration, we have now formulated a "Carbon Neutral Strategy" to accelerate the pace of decarbonization management within PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP. Going forward, our group will work together to focus on achieving a decarbonized society through a virtuous cycle between the environment and the economy.
Services provided by PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP
We will widely deploy our "Carbon Neutral Management *" services, which contribute to decarbonization, across "social infrastructure" in general and in "regions and areas."
*In addition to "strategy planning" to design the overall initiatives required for decarbonization, services related to "planning and design," "commercialization support," and "visualization and monitoring" to achieve the goal are also available.
Strategy 1: Strengthening the rollout of carbon neutral consulting services
We will continue to work on building a leading decarbonization model by focusing on decarbonization in "airports," "harbors," "dams and erosion control," and "regional decarbonization (leading regions for decarbonization, etc.)," in which our group has a track record as a leader (priority areas). We will also define "railways" and "roads and transportation" as the next strategic areas, and work on horizontal deployment of knowledge gained from our track record in the priority areas.
Strategy 2: Developing the energy business
We will strengthen our collaboration with Pacific Power Co., Ltd. (electricity retail and wholesale through local government Power Producers and Suppliers (PPS) businesses, etc.) and PE-TeRaS Co., Ltd. (solar power generation business, etc.), which are responsible for our group's green society businesses, and will continue to take on new challenges in the next-generation energy business. Through these efforts, we will also aim to achieve net-zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions for our group.
Strategy 3: Focused technology development
We will strengthen technological development necessary to advance Strategies 1 and 2 (next-generation energy management, carbon credits, visualization of CO2 emissions, creating a system of intermediary support organizations to promote regional decarbonization, etc.).
Going forward, PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP will strengthen its efforts to acquire and develop relevant human resources, as well as promote this strategy through alliances with companies and strategic investments.
