In Japan, initiatives are being made to achieve decarbonization at the regional level, such as by designating regions as pioneers in decarbonization, while European countries are also introducing a variety of mechanisms for regional decarbonization as part of the Green Deal movement.
This report provides an overview of policy trends regarding regional decarbonization in leading European countries, introduces the example of Net Zero Hubs, which are expected to play an important role in regional decarbonization in the UK, and considers suggestions that can be used as reference for regional decarbonization in Japan.
