Towards a Sustainable Society Where Everyone Can Live in Peace
For over 70 years since establishment, PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP has been providing technical services related to the planning, investigation, design, construction management, and maintenance of various social infrastructures. As a group of highly skilled civil engineers, we are providing new value to society. Civil engineering is a general term for the technology that creates an environment in which citizens can live peacefully and safely.
One of the projects we have been involved in for a long time is the regeneration project around Shibuya Station. Starting with the mutual use of different railway lines and the undergrounding of the station, what should we do with the huge new station site? We envisioned a new Shibuya by combining various knowledge and specialized technologies, communicating with local people and building a consensus, including the reconstruction of related buildings, redevelopment of the entire area in front of the station, improvement of roads and rivers associated with the redevelopment, and new disaster prevention plans. Our strength is our comprehensive capabilities as a group of civil engineers, and the current Shibuya Station area is one of our representative projects.
A bridge is built in a developing country, and a road is extended. A new railway network is created. By connecting regions and countries, social inequality is eliminated and exchange is created. Regions become more prosperous and economic disparities are narrowed. These things help prevent conflicts and lead to peaceful and secure lives for citizens. This is civil engineering, and it is our role!
Our greatest capital is our people. We want to bring together a diverse workforce, including people of different nationalities, with a wide range of values, so that everyone can be healthy in mind and body and maximize their abilities. We want to create an organization with a high level of psychological safety, where everyone can express their opinions frankly and point out any discomfort. We believe that this is the path to pave the way for our future.
As civil engineers, we share our values, build relationships of trust, and become a group in which each member acts autonomously to tackle social issues. I believe that this will lead to the realization of the "Future", we are aiming for and our vision of "Producing the Future."
