The comprehensive private-sector outsourcing project (infrastructure maintenance and management)  "Comprehensive Maintenance and Management of Social Capital in Sanjo City  (Arashikita District)", in which PACIFIC CONSULTANTS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Osamu OMOTO) participates as a constituent company, has been awarded as "Special Award" in the category of projects implemented in local governments with a population of less than 200,000 at the 1st PPP/PFI Business Excellence Awards.

This project is a comprehensive, cross-sectoral, multi-facility private-secotor outsourcing project for infrastructure maintenance and management, which involves the maintenance and repair of facilities in multiple fields, such as roads, bridges, and waterways. The following points were recognized and led to the award.

• By entrusting a series of operations such as maintenance and repair of each facility to private sector in a centralized manner, we are able to provide prompt services.
• The comprehensive outsourcing system was introduced in April 2017 as a small start for road and park management in some areas of central Sanjo City. The third phase of the system is currently being implemented, and the scope of outsourcing is being expanded step by step through dialogue between the public and private sectors.
• The company is accumulating road surface information data using new technology, and is using AI technology to visualize the soundness of road surfaces and select areas for repair.
• It has been widely publicized as a leading example, having been published in comprehensive private-sector outsourcing manuals, academic societies and specialist journals.
