PCKK to Manage the Entire Operation of Autonomous Buses in the Nishi-Shinjuku Area
PACIFIC CONSULTANTS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Osamu OMOTO) has been commissioned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to carry out a "FY2023 Research and Study Service Contract on Urban Development with an Eye to an Autonomous Driving Society." As part of the research and study on the social implementation of autonomous driving technology, the company will be responsible for the overall operation and management of autonomous bus operations in the Nishi-Shinjuku area.
The self-driving bus will be operated by Keio Bus Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fuchu City, Tokyo President & Representative Director: Shuji Miyasaka) and will operate on the following dates and times with vehicles provided by Saitama Institute of Technology (Head office: Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture; Dean: Shunichi Uchiyama). It will run along the same route as the current bus route, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Circular Route (CH01). However, it will not stop in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building.
From Monday, October 2, 2023 to Friday, October 13, 2023
However, the service will be suspended on October 5th (Thursday) and October 10th (Tuesday).
