In January 13, 2023, we held a study session with Professor Yasuyuki SHIMIZU of Hokkaido University at our Tsukuba Research Center.
The purpose of the study session was to learn about technology for visualizing phenomena occurring in rivers, and participants exchanged opinions on points to keep in mind when conducting predictive studies using hydraulic analysis, as well as the characteristics and difference in use between hydraulic analysis and hydraulic model experiment.
We also exchanged opinions on issues relating to river channel management through an on-site tour of the river.
We would like to continue to contribute to solving river management issues based on the experience we gained from this study group.
