Facilities and Functions
Facility Gallery
Experimental Yard (Outdoor Experimental Site)
The site area is 22,000 m², and experimental equipment such as a river model with a maximum straight extension of 130 m can be placed. There are two water passage facilities for hydraulic experiments, with a maximum water passage capacity of 0.75 m³/s. Water used in hydraulic experiments is returned to the low water tank via a return water channel within the facility and recycled. There are two large straight water channels permanently installed, each approximately 1.0 m wide and 30 m long.
Experimental Building (Indoor Testing Site)
The indoor laboratory has an area of 1,890 m² and a column-free space with a maximum ceiling height of 10 m. Since the indoor laboratory can conduct experiments and tests without being affected by the weather, it is used for experiments on dam facilities that require high measurement accuracy, and experiments related to water supply and sewerage, which often use acrylic models that are easily affected by sunlight. A straight waterway with a wave-making device is permanently installed.
Biotope
Located on the south side of the site, the 1,500m² site is home to konara oak, myrtle oak, awamizuzakura cherry, wild cherry, hinoki cypress, cedar, etc. In order to create a rich, disaster-resistant forest, we are conducting experiments to examine the cultivation of seedlings using the nursery block method and the growth of rhizomes.
Environmental Analysis Room (Inside the Indoor Experiment Building)
Here, together with our group company PCER, we carry out environmental surveys, environmental measurements and environmental analyses.
The survey targets the air pollution, water pollution, bottom sediment, soil pollution, odors, pesticides, etc. Gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC-MS), gas chromatograph analyzer (GC-ECD/FID), high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC), inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer (ICP) and other analytical instruments are operated in the analysis room in the laboratory.
